Why you should know him: Natan Sharansky is a human rights hero who once lived, and was imprisoned, under unbelievably oppressive rule. He has worked his entire life to right the wrongs of injustice.
Rabbi Eckstein recently attended a meeting at Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office, along with leaders from the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), a major partner with The Fellowship on matters relating to aliyah (immigration to Israel), immigrant absorption, and general assistance to needy Israeli citizens.
Among those in attendance at the meeting were Prime Minister Netanyahu and Natan Sharansky, chairman of JAFI and famed Soviet dissident.
